Q4040: How can I print the background image on a web page?

By default, the two major browsers are set up to not print background images. This is a good thing, as some background images can suck your ink cartridges dry. But there may be cases where you want the background image to appear on your printout.

Netscape Navigator/Communicator

In Netscape Navigator/Communicator, select "Page Setup" from the "File" menu. Click the checkbox next to "Print backgrounds" as shown below:

Microsoft Internet Explorer

In Microsoft Internet Explorer, select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu. Click on the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down to the section labeled "Printing." Click the checkbox next to "Print background colors and images" as shown below:

When you're done printing, be sure to turn that option off, unless you want to make it your default setting.
