I've been receiving several great e-mail newsletters over the years, and I highly recommend them all. All of these are free, and some have a special version for those who pay. The money I pay for newsletters is well worth it! Think about it, if you can pay $10 a year, and some time during that year you get a good tip that prevents your computer from crashing, that's money well spent.

Here they are in alphabetical order. Enjoy:

  • Islands in the Clickstream — Richard Thieme writes this newsletter, a periodic exploration of the impact of computer technology on individuals, organizations, and society.

  • Karen's Power Tools — Karen Wentworthy writes some great Windows programs and makes them all available for free on her web site. Her newsletter keeps us up-to-date on what she's working on, and always contains some extra interesting information.

  • Kim Komando — Kim Komando is an author, columnist and host of a sindicated radio show. Her show and e-mail newsletter address a wide range of computer-related topics.

  • LangaList — Fred Langa addresses many computer-related issues in his newsletter every week. Everything from program bugs, new viruses, what to watch for, etc. No computer user should be allowed to ignore this list.

  • Publicity Hound — Joan Stewart, a speaker, trainer and consultant, is a past president of NSA Wisconsin. In her free newsletter, she shows you how to use the media to establish your credibility, enhance your reputation and sell more products and services.

  • The Naked PC — This is another great "computing" newsletter put out by four guys at the PRIME Consulting Group in California. Chuck full of computing tips, web site links, featured books and products, etc. They even featured one of my web sites in their July 20, 2000 issue.

  • This Is True — Randy Cassingham writes this newsletter which injects some humor into our lives. His column includes several contemporary stories ripped from today's headlines, along with his take on the situation.

  • Tour Bus — Bob Rankin and Patrick Crispen write this newsletter with all kinds of info about the internet. Neat programs, news stories, new viruses, great new web sites, etc.
